imitating and rehearsing pronunciation, stress and intonation patterns used by the teacher and peers for a range of interactions and text types
saying familiar sentences fluently, with phrasing modelled on other speakers
modifying familiar sentences to incorporate personal details, for example ‘I like to play soccer’, ‘I like to play footy’
